Award-winning VFX Supervisor and artist Ryan Urban joins forces with NEXODUS to bring his world-class expertise in visual effects for feature films, television and commercials to the next-generation VFX studio.
Ryan’s impressive body of work encompasses large scale feature film visual effects work as well as efficient problem-solving for commercial clients and independent filmmakers. He has a long history on projects with Lana and Lilly Wachowski including, “The Matrix Resurrections,” “Jupiter Ascending,” “Sense8,” “Cloud Atlas” and “Ninja Assassin.” Ryan was overall VFX Supervisor on the finale of “Sense8,” Netflix series “Messiah,” Showtime’s “Work In Progress,” as well as several independent feature films including the 2022 WWII action war drama “Wolf Hound.”

As founder and principal at Turncoat Pictures, Ryan spent the past decade creating VFX for a diverse group of clients ranging from the major Hollywood studios to advertising agencies in the Midwest. Ryan’s partnership with NEXODUS brings their state-of-the-art pipeline and production to his projects, leveraging an operating model that is industry-leading in terms of flexibility and scalability. “The NEXODUS pipeline and studio team allow me to spend more time on what I enjoy the most – collaborating with clients on their creative vision, and working with talented visual effects artists to create, polish and deliver that vision on screen” adds Urban.
